apologies…. (this is becoming a bad habit…)
comic will be late … im going to have it done tomorrow morning… but tonight my computer has decided to be extremely laggy and low… I am utterly sick of this computer….
in lighter news ive reached 400 dollers in my battle to stave off eating out every night to get to the 750 dollers needed for the nice big tablet… yay… ive also figured out my next big milestone after the tablet. I hate my computer, it is bad for games, it is bad for 3d graphics… and it is bad with photoshop… ive decided after much hard thought that I am going to bite the bullet and buy a Mac …. unless of course some common sense washes over me and I stick with the loveable PC… in which case I am never ever ever going to buy a dell… ever…
in any case… Mac or PC… im going to start putting a little money away tword getting a computer that I can actually function on… my main goal is to become an artist working in 3d animation or games… but with my current computer (and fact that my parents will never ever agree >_<) I am stuck with this one for now…. I know that I could succeed if I was given the chance…. any advice from people who have broken this barrier (if anyone who has done that reads the comic that is >_<) would be appriciated greatly…. I am so lost as what to do with my life right now…. i feel like ive let everybody that cares about me down….. myself the most…. ive done nothing with my life that I would have wanted if I had looked at my future 10 years ago….
if I think back 5 or 10 years all ive ever wanted to do is make video game or movie art or concept art…. maybe because that is still my dream that means I should just risk it and do it…
>_< I apologise for boring you with my lifes tragedy… everyone goes through this at some point… I will attempt not to bring it up much more… just know that ill have the comic up tiomorrow
Luck out

Well from everything I’ve ever read into getting in the game industry, keep an eye out for new low-key game companies that are hiring. I have heard that at some universities game developers come by and offer jobs to current students, so maybe something similar happens at your college.
If you’re still staying in college/uni, take courses that will help build your resume, such as advanced art of 3d courses. One you have a few and you’re finished at college/uni try and find some small jobs for small companies. Like maybe a local shop needs some graphics work done, just put an ad in the newspaper saying that you are a experienced skilled graphics designer.
Once you have a few small jobs done start working your way up into bigger companies and along the way creating a better portfolio and resume.
Just keep your eyes out, and take every opportunity presented. Surely there is something at your college you could do to help yourself (Like a graphics contest or something)
I’m not sure how much of this is helpful, this is based off articles I have read, my opinion, and some information I know about getting into the game industry in Australia. (Most people make fellow ‘game-maker friends’ at Uni and form a small game company, eventually working their way up to bigger companies)

nice constructive criticism, Beta.
Here’s my advice, Luck:
1) try out Game Maker. Its a good introduction into the game programming community, and i actually know over a dozen people who have been drafted because games they made in Game Maker were noticed by some higher-ups. (i could help you out, i program a bit in that field)
2)Try to become a prominent member in some gamer communities. You know Thunder? Well, he used to be a staffer over at http://www.heavengames.com, and he was drafted straight into Ensemble because he had a talent in dealing with noobs
3) follow NewGuy’s advice. very good advice, that is.

i understand that you don’t want to be a programmer, but doing both the art and code for a game shows off some skill, and will get you noticed.
also, you may be drafted into a company for your art skill, but the ability to do other jobs when they need it is handy.
